The Travel Channel at The Benitoite Gem Mine On December first and second, the Travel Channel's "Cash and Treasures" crew came out to the Benitoite Gem Mine to shoot an episode that will air next spring. We had a great, albeit very cold time and collected some very nice pieces. I'll post some pictures as I finish etching the specimens. Specimens from The Benitoite Gem Mine I have recently purchased Benitoite specimens and a cut stone from the collections of Bruce Runner and A.L. McGuiness. After further preparation, they are now ready for sale. Collecting at the Benitoite Gem Mine The new owner of the Benitoite Gem Mine, Dave Schreiner has opened the mine to the public on a fee basis. I have led several trips up to the mine and have seen several people find both good specimens and valuable facet rough.
