8/1/10 Thanks! and Benitoite and Neptunite Specimens First off, I want to thank everyone who looked at and bid on any of the items in my Special Auction last week. I really appreciate it and am busy getting packages in the mail this week! Now back to business, I just uploaded seven new specimens from the Benitoite Gem Mine . These are things I have recently etched and there are some very nice specimens to be had. Take a look and enjoy! |

7/22/10 Special Auction on Mineral-Auctions.com I will be running a Special Auction from 7/23 - 7/28 on Trinity Mineral's Mineral-auctions.com site. The theme of the auction is the San Franciso Fine Mineral Show, which I was a dealer at earlier this month. There is a wide range of material on this austion and there should be something for just about everyone. Here are a couple of examples from this auction:

5/26/10 Gemstone Update Computer problems seem to be fixed, so I have uploaded some new stones to the Rare Gemstones page. I also updated my Show Schedule page. Coming soon will be some new Benitoite stones and an update to the Fine Gemstones page. |

4/2/10 Earth's Treasures Update I have been dealing with some computer issues since the day before the last day in Tucson, but am finally feeling more in control. I have updated a couple of the galleries and will be working on gemstones in the near future. I also wanted to mention that I will be giving a talk on Benitoite at the California Mineral and Mining Museum in Mariposa on Saturday, April 10th at 2:00. |

4/2/10 Worldwide and Tsumeb Minerals Update I just updated the Worldwide Minerals page with a number of specimens including a few very nice unheated Tanzanites I picked up in Tucson I also added a couple more minerals to the Tsumeb page one of them being a nice Tsumeb rarity, Beaveritew on Cuprian Adamite, take a look! |

Mini Show December 5th in Emeryville I will be doing a mini show on December 5th from 11:00 - 5:00 with Mike Keim from Marin Minerals, Scott Werschky from Miner's Lunchbox and Dan Kennedy (no relation but still a great guy!) in the Sierra Room at the Woodfin Suites Hotel, 5800 Shellmound Street, Emeryville, CA 94608. I will have a full spread of the new Benitoite specimens, recently acquired thumbnails from Tom Wolfe's personal collection and a bunch of other pretty stuff! |

This is all new material that is actually old material as well since it came from one of the former owners of the Benitoite Gem Mine, Buzz Gray who I had the pleasure of visiting last month. Don't miss this stuff, specimens like this are very hard to come by these days! |

11/4/09 Field Work and News Well, it was a very busy summer and fall, filled with much digging. I will be adding a number of new specimens and stones to the site in the coming weeks and should have a major announcement right after the Costa Mesa Show!. |

5/17/09 California Blue Mine I am now selling select specimens from a new pegmatite mine in San Bernardino County that is producing Smoky Quartz, Topaz and some of the best Aquamarine that California has ever seen! Within the next couple of weeks I will have a new page with specimens, cut stones will be following in the future. |

2/6/09 Karpatite! I have just added a few specimens of Karpatite from the claim I share with my friend Dan from Calminco. Thanks go to John Veeveart for a very nice review of my Karpatite display in one of his show reports from Tucson. I figured I should have some specimens from our most recent find posted, so I have just finished doing so. Karpatite is a rare organic mineral that is found in association with Cinnabar in the Calc-Silicate deposits in San Benito County, California. Its formula is C24H12 and it is brightly fluorescent in all wavelengths of ultraviolet light |

2/3/09 Tucson is in Full Swing! I am at the InnSuites Hotel, room 244. Though it is obvious that the economy has made for more cautious buying, I am still having a very successful show. I'll be here until the 15th, if you are in town, please come and visit. In the meantime, I will do my best to mark "Sold" anything from the website that sells here. |

11/30/08 Massive Updates on the Way! I am back from three months of nearly continuous travel and am ready to post a bunch of new specimens! Check out the site over the next couple of weeks for new Benitoite, Rare Gems and many extremely nice worldwide specimens.! The Travel Channel at The Benitoite Gem Mine On December first and second, the Travel Channel's "Cash and Treasures" crew came out to the Benitoite Gem Mine to shoot an episode that will air next spring. We had a great, albeit very cold time and collected some very nice pieces. I'll post some pictures as I finish etching the specimens. My thanks to Stacy, Kirsten, Luke, Brian and Mario for an awesome weekend! The show premiers April 9th!! I am now a dealer on Mineral-Auctions.com! I have recently been added as a dealer on Trinity Minerals mineral-auctions.com site. Check out the site and look for quality minerals at reasonable prices. Collecting at the Benitoite Gem Mine May 1, 2009 - The Clear Creek Management Area has been closed by the BLM. All collecting in that area is on hold until the area is open. Please check in here and at calstategemmine.com to see updates as they happen The new owner of the Benitoite Gem Mine, Dave Schreiner has opened the mine to the public on a fee basis. I have led several trips up to the mine and have seen several people find both good specimens and valuable facet rough.
